A synagogue with a preschool full of toddlers had just been targeted in a terrorist attack, and the Times’ first instinct was to tell its readers about Zionism. Media watchdog HonestReporting called the implication “obvious,” writing that “Temple Israel was not merely presented as a Jewish place of worship with a preschool inside”. Instead, the headline “drew attention to its historical support for the establishment of Israel . . .
