I learned that the Evangelical Environmental Network would come to my church and tell everyone how we can breathe clean air. Are you kidding? The National Association of Evangelicals decried gun violence and encouraged pulpits to discuss the concern about America’s nukes. I guess the thinking was that North Korea would dismantle their nuclear capability if America would. I wish I were making this up.
Time flies. Years race by. But, 2024 has been a stunner in many ways. And many events remind me that the world is running out of time before the last act of a major drama plays out. In other words, the Church Age is winding down.
The movement is traced back to C. Peter Wagner, who claims Apostles and Prophets will rule the Church of the 21st Century. This movement began as Wagner became known for teaching and promoting church growth and spiritual warfare. He gradually claimed to be the visionary Apostolic leader he espoused and anointed himself NAR’s “Presiding Apostle.”
On October 28, 2023, a group of former leaders from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Missouri (IHOPKC), released a statement announcing they had made the current IHOPKC leaders aware of credible allegations of clergy sexual abuse against IHOPKC founder Mike Bickle.
So, someone is waiting in the wings who is the ultimate betrayer and he will fool them, too. Because they are in a state of fear and anxiety, they will be open to his cunning message. This global mover and shaker may be inconsequential right now, but he is rehearsing how he will play into their insecurities. He’s in the shadows now.
