Good morning. A terrible falling-out has occurred in my family between my mom and her dad (my granddad). My granddad has chosen to reject a relationship with my mom and, instead, associate with my mom's two sisters (my aunts) who are alcoholics/addicts and living in sin despite claiming to be Christians. In fact, he refuses to as much as eat with my mom. My granddad serves as mine and my husband's pastor.
To make matters worse, he has recently made my mom an example of a bad Christian in our church sermons (without explicitly naming her)
I have tried to live peaceably with all of my family members, but these recent developments have made it clear that my mom's attempts to make peace have gone nowhere, which brings the following verse to mind: "I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war!" (Psalm 120:7).
I ask for prayers for my granddad's and aunts' hearts, and I ask for prayers that we would follow the Lord's directive in finding a new church. My mom is at peace despite what has transpired, and I am grateful for that. I, too, am feeling more at peace. Thank you all so much.
