Gates has been celebrating after India rolled out his sweeping digital ID system that locks citizens out of society if they refuse to sign up for the technology. In India, members of the general public now need to produce digitization of their identity before they can access online services, receive healthcare, interact with their own bank account, or even buy groceries.
