I would like to lift my sister up in prayer. She struggles deeply with sexual sin, and has for 12+ years, in the form of homosexuality and other things. She claims she is homosexual because God made her that way and, therefore, it is the Bible that is wrong because she is living life as her "authentic self" the way God created her. She thinks the Bible's stance on homosexuality is a mistranslation and has no credibility because human men physically wrote the words. My grandpa hosts a small-group Bible study once a week at his house, and in addition to the other attendees, my mom and I would attend with my sister. However, in January, my sister decided to stop attending the Bible study for the foreseeable future, citing school and work conflicts. Ever since she stopped attending, she has become more angry and hostile toward others, including our parents, and becomes riled up over the smallest of matters. She has also recently purchased a workbook about recovering from "oppressive religions and ideas," which paints biblical Christianity as an oppressive religion because of its stance on homosexuality. We are trying our best to be loving, but we have communicated that we believe what the Bible says about marriage and sexuality, but this seems to have made her double-down in her efforts. Any prayers for her and her constant struggle would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
