In memory of Dolly Parton:

I don’t recall if she confessed to be a Christian but she did display a particular quality. The following is a note I wrote to a friend. It might also be of encouragement to others.

Interviewers like Barbara Walters would ask her some of the dumbest questions and make the rudest comments about her.

She would respond humbly and gently as well as genteelly.

Without even a hint of revenge, revile or malice.

The audience realized. Hopefully, the interviewer realized that they had just been put to shame. And hopefully, we all come to realize their shame was actually their blessing. Because she was not in any way attempting to shame them. But where humility is present, the Light and Reflection of Christ radiates and shines.

The LORD made me slightly "rough around the edges” and it has served the purposes that He has placed me here to do.

So, therefore, I won’t say that I benignly envy her.

However, I will say that that quality comes about by Spiritual maturity, as Christ-likeness. And that is a good thing to have. And that is what I want. For all Believers.

So then, in my case that would be the slightly rough edges as the “Salt”. And the increase of Spiritual maturity as the “Light”.

In your case, that would be the way The LORD has Gifted you, plus the growing in Grace, love for God, along with the Spiritual maturity; which God provides. But, also for which, we must seek, covet, practice, and sometimes even wrestle.

New Urgent prayer for my son. Toxic exgirlfriend now talking to my son. Severely gaslighting him now talking him into living with her; gaslighting and brainwashing is severe. I talked to him a few days ago & he was planning to move here with me to get away from her! Very scary what shes doing to him.

Contacting a pastor to talk to my son. Please pray this pastor reaches my son, so he understands he cannot go back but this woman. Afraid for my son's well-being. Please pray for my son's deliverance & protection. Grateful as always for the prayers. Your prayers are sustaining me in the midst of this crisis. Thank you.

Wife A.C.S and husband C.I.S. And baby M.:

I come before You Jesus in the mighty name of Jesus, and I lift up this husband, this wife, their marriage, and their precious baby to You. Lord, You know everything that has happened in this relationship. You have seen the years of fighting, the yelling, the hurt, the betrayal, the fear, the control, the lies, and all the wounds that have been carried into this marriage. Nothing is hidden from You. Father, please bring Your truth, healing, wisdom, humility, and peace into this home. In Jesus’ name, I pray against every unhealthy pattern that has taken hold of this marriage. Break the cycle of anger, fear, control, avoidance, dishonesty, resentment, and hurt. Where there has been lying, bring truth. Where there has been betrayal, bring genuine repentance and healing. Where there has been fear, bring courage. Where there has been control, bring peace and trust. Where there has been anger, bring self-control. Where there has been hurt, bring healing. Lord, help this husband become a man of honesty and integrity. Give him the courage to tell the truth, even when the truth is difficult. Help him stop hiding things simply because he is afraid of conflict. Give him strength to communicate with his wife honestly and lovingly instead of simply giving in because he is afraid of how she will react. Father, I also pray for this wife. You know her heart, her fears, her insecurities, and the things that have caused her to feel like she needs to be in control. Please heal whatever is underneath that need for control. Give her peace and security that comes from You. Help her speak with love, listen with patience, and learn to trust without feeling that she has to control everything around her. Lord, bring balance back into this marriage. Let them stop living as master and servant and teach them how to live as husband and wife, as partners who respect and care for one another. Help them disagree without hurting each other. Help them communicate without yelling. Help them apologize when they are wrong and forgive when they have been hurt. Help them remember that they are on the same side. Father, please place a hedge of protection around their baby. Keep this precious child safe from anger, fear, hostility, and the emotional effects of the problems between the parents. Let this baby grow up in a home filled with love, peace, safety, laughter, honesty, and security. Help these parents understand how important the atmosphere of their home is to their child. Lord, expose anything that needs to be exposed and heal anything that needs to be healed. Do not allow either one of them to hide behind old habits or excuses. Give them people who will encourage them, pray for them, and lovingly tell them the truth when they need to hear it. If they need counseling, guidance, accountability, or help learning how to communicate in a healthy way, please lead them to the right people. Father, I pray that You would change their hearts, not just their behavior for a little while. Help this husband become trustworthy. Help this wife become trusting. Help them both become humble, patient, honest, forgiving, and loving. Let this marriage become something healthier and stronger than what it has been in the past. Do not let the enemy use their past to destroy their future. Do not let old wounds keep controlling their present. Let truth have the final word. Let healing have the final word. Let peace have the final word. Let love have the final word. Most of all, let You have the final word in this family. Father, establish this home on truth instead of fear, love instead of control, humility instead of pride, and peace instead of chaos. Protect this husband. Protect this wife. Protect their baby. Heal what has been broken. Restore what can be restored. Change whatever needs to change. Give them wisdom to know what is right and courage to do it. Help them become the husband, wife, and parents You want them to be. I pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
