A generation that forgot history is flirting with repeating it.

Those, like this writer, who grew up before 1991 were brought up in a world that was anti-communist. The majority view, held by both our major parties, emphasized private ownership of property and individual liberty restrained by Judeo-Christian morality. Despite the banning of prayer in our schools in 1962, faith in God was perceived as legitimate (varying on an individual-by-individual basis), and not as a somewhat out-of-date interest merely to be tolerated.

The darkening demonic activity only intensified after that ordeal. We saw it in 2020 with the George Floyd ordeal, when 1,000 properties were destroyed. A huge swath of destruction on our south side is still not rebuilt. Soros and Communist influence in our area is intense.

Regarding the upcoming “Red Summer,” communists point with glee to a 2025 CATO Institute poll which “revealed the extent of this radicalization among the youth,” according to one Marxist group. It found that 62% of 18 to 34-year-olds had a favorable view of socialism – and 34% have favorable views of communism.
