She also sees the spiritual component that I see in the socialist onslaught: “As religion recedes, politics takes its place. As confidence fades, political movements grow radical.” What she doesn’t point out is that socialism/communism is a faith — a religion in itself that takes no prisoners when it comes to rival belief systems.
