Prophecy Watch

Prophecy WatchWe are to watch and pray for the Lord’s return. We will help you do so by keeping our eyes on the signs of the times and reporting them to you. Jesus chastised the Pharisees for not knowing the signs of the times in His day. So He wants to us know the signs today, for they instill in us hope for the future and encourage us to evangelize the lost while there is still time.

(Note from Jan: Hear Bill Salus on our April 18, 2009 radio program - posted to"Radio Archives.")

Lately it seems that there is an inescapable apocalyptic tenor resounding throughout the world. Humanity, still sickened from the world financial crisis, has recently been thrust into a stage-5 condition of pandemic pandemonium! Mexicans are afraid to breath on one another, Egyptians are slaughtering thousands of pigs, and many Americans are quarantining their children from public schools - and that's just one unhealthy dose of daily news!

World-changing events are emerging at an alarming pace, causing Christian eschatologists to write last days articles faster than Scott rolls out toilet tissue and world governments print funny money to fill the bottomless financial pit. Unknowingly paralleling their concerns, even President Obama recently declared that after 100 days in office "the number of critical issues that appear to be coming to a head all at the same time" surprises him. Newscaster Glenn Beck of Fox News echoes similar sentiment by suggesting there appears to be a "perfect storm" coming, alluding to the advance of powerful world-changing events building one upon another in rapid succession.

The Holy Spirit's Role in Prophecy - Hindson

Q. What role will the Holy Spirit play in the coming prophetic scenario?

A. The Holy Spirit is, even now, playing a vital role in Bible Prophecy. It is His leading which draws people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul said:

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God," (Romans 8:14).

One day, at a time known only to God, the Church will be complete. The Holy Spirit will have led the last soul into the Body of Christ. At that time, the Rapture and Resurrection will take place (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). When the Church is taken home to Heaven, the role of the Holy Spirit - as He indwells the Church and restrains evil in the world - will be ended (2 Thessalonians 2:7-9). This will open the door to the rise of the Antichrist and his reign of evil during the Tribulation.

Chilling Sounds After the Rapture

A chilling mood has suddenly gripped the entire world.  Even the multitudes, which know nothing of the Holy Bible or Jesus Christ, are tantalized with the feeling that they have missed a Divine event. Reporters are searching to understand what has happened.  Phones are ringing off their hooks with hectic callers looking for disappeared friends or loved ones.  College students, still gripped with their hangover from parties the night before, are jostled with the startling news.  Grandfathers, grandmothers, parents, and some friends that were very different are missing and they have left no trace of their whereabouts.

The Late-Great USA - May 31

By Dr. Thomas Ice

"My son, fear the Lord and the king; do not associate with those who are given to change; for their calamity will rise suddenly, and who knows the ruin that comes from both of them?" ~ Proverbs 24:21:22

Former Clinton advisor and commentator Dick Morris announced:
"On April 2, 2009, the work of July 4, 1776 was nullified at the meeting of the G-20 in London."

That is an amazing statement and a tragedy if true. One of my best friends in the ministry, with whom I have co-authored two books, Mark Hitchcock wrote a book, which was finished before last November's election, entitled The Late Great United States. There are two other books listed on Amazon.com with similar titles. Why are many concerned that our great country is on the verge of extinction?

Life On Earth In The Millennium

This Week's Feature Article by Jack Kelley

Hal Lindsey once speculated that at his judgment Satan hurled two accusations at God. You're not just and You have no love.  In our last study we saw how God demonstrated His perfect justice with Israel and His perfect love with the Church. Israel lived under an absolutely just system of law. It was clear and concise, made no exceptions, and showed no favoritism. There was blessing for obedience and punishment for disobedience in an obvious cause and effect relationship. What they did determined what they got. God said to them, Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. (Exodus 19:5-6)

What Does A Dispensationalist Believe?

Q. Hi. I am a big fan of your site. I truly feel the Lord has given you a gift of interpretation and teaching. I'm writing you because I also am pre-trib, pre-mil, and believe in the different dispensations, but realize that I don't know them all. You mentioned seven. Could you briefly list them and describe them for me, and I'm sure others as well? Thanks God bless.

A. A Dispensationalist believes that throughout history God has dealt with His people in different ways as part of the process of unfolding the revelation of His character. Scholars have identified seven distinct Dispensations. Each one has has begun with an agreement between God and man that man has subsequently broken, ending the relationship in failure and requiring a judgment.

The Books - Kinsella

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." (Revelation 20:12)

Permit me to set the stage for the scene just described. We are being given an eyewitness account of the Great White Throne Judgment.

The Three Questions Of Matt. 24 - Jack Kelley

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. Tell us, they said, when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? (Matt. 24:3)

One of the mistakes we make in reading the Bible is caused by our tendency to look at everything through "Church colored glasses."  By that I mean we read it as if everything applies directly to us without regard for the context or historical background. I know Paul said everything that was written in the past was written to teach us (Romans 15:4) but that doesn't mean it was all written to us. It means we're supposed to learn from the experiences of those who came before us.  A prime example of this kind of mistake can be found in our interpretation of the Olivet Discourse. I'll show you what I mean.

A new Jewish interfaith initiative launched last week argues building the Third Jewish Temple in Jerusalem would not necessitate the destruction of the Dome of the Rock.

"God's Holy Mountain Vision" project hopes to defuse religious strife by showing that Jews' end-of-days vision could harmoniously accommodate Islam's present architectural hegemony on the Temple Mount.

Why Perilous Times Are Now in Overdrive

You may think that headline is a strong statement so let me defend it. We have now entered the most serious "perilous times" (II Timothy 3:1) in history. President Obama's speech in Cairo was a total surrender to Islam and a drastic turn against one of our best allies, Israel.
Because of this one-two punch, America and the rest of the world will never be what it once was. Why? Because Obama is the acknowledged leader of the free world as all American presidents are. And he sent the world of Islam a dramatic message that America wants to be their friend and that America respects Islam -- even though they continue to be at war with us.
