In his farewell speech, Republican Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn left his fellow United States Senators with a solemn tear-filled warning that the continued existence of America as a republic is in grave danger.
A Closer LookAlluding to President Barack Obama's persistent trend of avoiding the system of checks and balances via executive orders and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's (D-Nev.) fairly recent act of "tyranny" by deciding other senators' rights, Coburn alerted dozens of his colleagues in the Senate that America's failure to stick to the Constitution and the founding father's intent will only result in the U.S. repeating history by becoming just another failed republic.
The Rev. Franklin Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritans Purse, says the government's attacks against Christianity and bans on traditional Christmas themes while society glorifies sin is "like little children shaking their fist at Almighty God."
America has been a prominent player on the world stage for over two hundred years and the undisputed superpower for decades. Why is it noticeably absent from the last days scenario and why can't we find any apparent mention of America in Bible prophecy? Current events seem to be racing toward the last days with domino effect like speed. Many Christians, students of Bible prophecy, and people who want to know what the future holds are asking the same question: What about US ?
"Harbinger" author Jonathan Cahn says it's because of his book that the tree will not be replaced.
His work examines the nine harbingers, or warnings, recorded in the Bible that were delivered to Israel before the nation disintegrated. He contends God is giving the same nine warnings now to America to urge the nation to repent.
One of the harbingers was a sycamore tree at Ground Zero, which after the destruction of the Twin Towers was replaced by an evergreen, a move Cahn believes follows the Isaiah prophecy.
Now the replacement tree is gone, he said.
Someone finally tells the truth and reveals that America's future is bleak...
Obama is an anti-American. He supports the terrorists, he's supporting Hamas in this battle. He supports the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the fountainhead of al-Qaeda and all the terrorist groups in the Middle East. He is leading a retreat of America from the world. He is taking us down as a nation. He's an anti-American radical with Communist views. And we need to have more people saying this, telling it like it is.
If people aren't extremely concerned about what's going on in this country now, you might want to check them for a pulse. Frankly, I am having a hard time getting my mind around the rapidity of the nation's decline.
I have written two books chronicling President Obama's nightmarish path of destruction, but since the second one was published, events have been happening at an even more explosive pace. Who would have ever imagined that Ronald Reagan's famous statement that "freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction" would turn out to be a gross understatement?
Many people wonder what has happened to our country. Out of frustration, some ask questions on social media about the moral decline in America: How did we get here? When did the erosion of our biblical values begin? How did we reach this point where this people, a nation under God, failed so miserably to keep His commandments and be effective witnesses for Christ? John R.W. Stott once said:
We should not ask 'what's wrong with this world?' For that diagnosis has already been given. Rather, we should ask, 'What has happened to the salt and light?'
Barack Obama is the final piece of the map in the progressive movement's century of steady destruction of the U.S. dollar, income taxation, and massive, liberal intrusion into the lives of all Americans from birth to death.
An excellent analysis of this is found in "The Great Withdrawal: How the Progressive's 100-Year Debasement of American and the Dollar Ends," by Craig R. Smith and Lowell Ponte ($19.95, Idea Factory Press, Phoenix, Arizona). Together they have written eight books on economic topics.
For the past several years, a growing number of prophetically and culturally astute leaders have been predicting the decline of the United States. Also, books like the New York Times best-seller The Harbinger have issued dire warnings to America based on biblical principles and Old Testament prophetic passages.
There have been predictions as dire as the total breakup of our union, preceded by mass rioting and chaos (catalyzed by runs on banks and economic calamities), to a severe economic crisis far worse than what happened globally in 2008. All in all, most I speak to portend a major financial correction is soon coming in the market.
The downfall of America is, by most observers, hovering on the brink of economic collapse and the prospects of martial law being enforced, is quietly being prepared for its citizens. No one wants to talk about those things very openly these days.
But for the God of Prophecy
Knowing that the God of the universe is in control and sets the appointed times of events on earth is a great source of comfort and peace to the believer. As for the place of America in biblical prophecy, it is not mentioned in any direct way as a super power in the last days.
