Our Purpose
The PURPOSE of Olive Tree Ministries has changed a bit over the years. We have always been pro-Israel, prophecy-oriented, and a ministry trying to discern the times. We strive to help people understand the times, contend for the faith, and become watchmen on the wall. Every year that becomes a greater and greater challenge.
We believe that something changed in the Heavenlies in May of 1948. That is the year when Israel became a nation and the “dry bones” of Ezekiel 37 came together. It is the greatest miracle of the last many millennia. One of the purposes of Olive Tree Ministries is to encourage Christians to stand by Israel. They remain God’s Chosen People, although the church today is embracing Reformed Theology; that is, a belief that the Church today is the new Israel. Even once-solid denominations now embrace this. It is spurred on by major radio ministries, teachers, and authors who denounce Israel and the Jewish people even though they claim to be evangelicals.
Today the major theme concerning the Middle East and Israel is that they are an inconvenience. But the Bible indicates that the Middle East, and particularly Israel, are the epicenter of the world.
The Bible says there will be a great falling away as we approach the end of the age. In that the most frequent theme of e-mails into this ministry has to do with raging apostasy, Olive Tree Ministries also began focusing on false teaching in 2004.
We attempt to keep people tuned in to current events from a biblical perspective. Christians need not be afraid of the tide of the times. We are a premillenial organization that believes the hour is late and that the Ark door will shut again soon, this time for the Rapture of the church. We urge all to “be ready” for the Lord’s return -- the hour we do not know. We can watch and discern the “seasons” of His return according to the Bible. We avoid all date-setters as it concerns the Lord’s return via the Rapture and Second Coming. Those are two distinctly different events. We hold to traditional Dispensational Theology.
As previously stated, our purpose is to help people understand the times, contend for the faith, and become watchmen on the wall. We do so via radio, conferences, Web outreach, e-newsletter, print newsletter, and products we sell. Jan Markell also has about 100 radio interviews a year around the country. She writes for many periodicals and Web sites.
We will continue to be an educational force for the church and believers, although our exposing of false teachings and teachers makes this ministry very unpopular nationally other than to the starving remnant of believers worldwide. And we will continue to encourage all believers to share the gospel (to the Jew first) and to “look up” for our Redeemer does draw nigh! |
